Introduction to the laser lithotripsy procedure

If laser lithotripsy is to be used for urinary stones, it is mostly performed under surgical general anesthesia. The modalities can be divided into invasive and non-invasive. Invasive is represented by percutaneous nephrolithotomy, while non-invasive surgery is based on holmium laser lithotripsy under ureteroscopy or holmium laser lithotripsy under flexible ureteroscopy. First, percutaneous nephrolithoscopy requires a channel in the lumbar area to enter the kidney directly, and after the nephrolithoscope observes the stone, the laser is introduced into the body by the nephrolithoscope, and the stone is completely broken under direct vision, and then the stone is removed from the channel in the lumbar area to complete the surgery. The laser will be introduced into the body through the ureteroscope or soft ureteroscope, and the stones will be completely broken under direct vision.
