Is it necessary to carry a fetus with tetralogy of Fallot?

The birth of a fetus with tetralogy of Fallot is not recommended, but the exact retention is related to the family’s wishes. Tetralogy of Fallot is a complex congenital heart disease, i.e. the presence of pulmonary stenosis, aortic ride, ventricular septal defect and right ventricular hypertrophy, which is quite serious. The disease can only be treated surgically after birth, but the degree of cure is related to the severity of the disease and the amount of money spent, therefore, it is not recommended to give birth to a fetus with Tetralogy of Fallot, but the exact retention of the fetus is related to the wishes of the family. Surgical correction is currently the only treatment option for Tetralogy of Fallot, as there is no possibility of self-healing. If the choice is to continue the pregnancy, then the surgery needs to be performed between 6-12 months of the infant’s life. Once Tetralogy of Fallot has been detected, it is recommended that the patient be rechecked every three months at a local hospital with cardiac surgical capabilities, so that the timing of the surgery can be determined on a case-by-case basis. It is recommended that you follow your doctor’s instructions for regular checkups and seek medical attention for any abnormalities and advice from your doctor.
