What causes a slight tremor of the hands

Slight hand tremor can be caused by physiological factors, or it can be caused by idiopathic tremor, hyperthyroidism and other diseases. 1. Physiological reasons: hand tremor is common in emotional excitement or nervousness, and the symptoms of hand tremor will gradually improve after calming down and relaxing. There is no need to worry about this condition and no special treatment is needed. 2. Pathologic causes (1) Idiopathic tremor: a common movement disorder with tremor as the only manifestation, 1/3 of patients have positive family history, mainly manifested as postural tremor and action tremor, often seen in one upper limb or both upper limbs, and the head is often involved, but the lower limbs are less often involved. In some patients, tremor can be temporarily reduced after drinking alcohol, and can be aggravated by emotional excitement or tension, fatigue, and cold. (2) Hyperthyroidism: Patients with hyperthyroidism have increased secretion of thyroid hormone levels, and the body is in a state of high excitement, resulting in clinical symptoms such as trembling of the hands, panic, sweating and irritability. When young people have symptoms of hand tremor, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time, and if necessary, carry out the appropriate examination to clarify the diagnosis. (3) Parkinson’s disease: a neurodegenerative disease commonly seen in middle-aged and elderly people. Resting tremor is often the first symptom, mostly starts at the distal end of one side of the upper limb, appears or is obvious when in a resting position, decreases or stops during casual movement, and increases when tense or agitated. There are various reasons for mild hand tremor, and the cause should be clarified under the guidance of a doctor, and intervention and treatment should be provided.
