Do lung nodules of 6mm need surgery?

Clinically, nodules below 6mm are called micronodules, nodules below 1cm are called small nodules, and nodules larger than 3cm are called masses. Therefore, the patient’s nodules of 6mm belong to micronodules, and most of these nodules are benign and do not require surgery, but they should be observed regularly. Patients are advised to have a review in about 6 months. If the small nodules have a tendency to increase in size or the solid component increases, with the appearance of ground glass and solid component, the degree of malignancy may be higher. If it grows to 8 mm and the solid component is greater than 50%, surgery is required.
