What causes pneumonia?

The causes of pneumonia include pathogenic microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, and atypical pathogens, physical and chemical factors such as radiation, and chemical factors such as inhaled foreign bodies.
1. Bacterial pneumonia: pneumonia caused by bacteria such as Streptococcus pneumoniae, Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae and Escherichia coli.
2. Viral pneumonia: pneumonia caused by adenovirus, respiratory syncytial virus, influenza virus, measles virus, cytomegalovirus and herpes simplex virus.
3. Pneumonia caused by atypical pathogens: e.g. Legionella, Mycoplasma, Chlamydia and other causes of pneumonia.
4. Lung fungal disease: such as Candida, Aspergillus, Cryptococcus, Pneumocystis, Trichophyton and other causes of pneumonia.
5. Physicochemical and chemical factors: such as radioactive injury caused by radioactive pneumonia, gastric acid inhalation caused by chemical pneumonia.
