What is a superficial swelling

Superficial masses are body surface masses located in skin, skin adnexa, subcutaneous tissue, etc. They include tumor-like masses of non-genuine tumors and tumors originating from superficial soft tissues such as skin, skin adnexa, subcutaneous tissue, etc. Common diseases include lipomas, hemangiomas, sebaceous cysts, dermatomal cysts, fibroids and fibroid-like lesions, neurofibromas, melanomas, skin cancers, scar tissue, etc. Superficial soft tissue masses need to be clearly diagnosed according to the etiology, clinical manifestations, imaging and pathological examinations of each disease. The main treatment is surgical removal of the primary lesion, while other treatments, such as drug therapy, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, need to be formulated according to the condition.
