If a toe fracture occurs, it takes about 2-3 months at the earliest to walk normally, because in the early stage after a toe fracture, it takes about 4-6 weeks to start to walk on the ground or to do functional exercises for the toe, whether it is fixed by manipulation, external fixation with a cast or splint, or internal fixation with surgery. When you start to walk on the ground, the muscle strength is not fully recovered and the toe function may be stiff, so you have to take about 0.5-1 month of normal active exercise before the function can be recovered normally. If the fracture grows slowly or if the patient is not very active in exercising, the normal walking time may be extended for 1-2 months.
