The tibiofibular fracture can be stepped on the ground in a few months

Tibial fractures are common lower extremity fractures, and the time it takes for the fracture to heal is related to the patient’s nutritional status, fracture site, severity of the fracture, and treatment method. Usually, it takes more than six months to fully walk with weight after a tibial fracture. After a fracture in the middle and lower third of the tibia, the blood flow to the fracture site is affected, which prolongs the healing time of the fracture. In general, after a tibial fracture is fixed in a plaster or brace, the patient can walk on the ground with the help of crutches after about 2 months of bed rest. About 1 month after the incision and internal fixation surgery, you can walk with crutches. It takes more than 3-6 months for a tibial fracture to heal completely. Patients should go to the hospital for X-ray examination to make sure the fracture is healed and they can walk off the crutches. During the fracture healing period, patients should strengthen nutrition, quit smoking, and avoid walking too early to avoid affecting the healing of the fracture.
