General tailbone fracture need to rest for how long

The healing time of the caudal fracture is related to the severity of the injury, the patient’s physical condition, age and other factors, and generally 4-6 weeks can gradually recover. The caudal spine consists of 3-5 degenerated vertebrae fused together, and a fall on the hip can easily lead to a fracture of the caudal spine. The fracture of the caudal vertebra is mostly treated conservatively by bed rest, oral or topical application of non-steroidal pain medications such as ibuprofen, celecoxib and fotarolim cream, and oral blood-activating and pain-relieving medications, and the fracture basically heals after 4-6 weeks. The healing time of fracture is shorter in children and longer in elderly people with osteoporosis. The angular deformity of the caudal vertebrae fracture affects defecation, may affect fetal delivery, or cause persistent local pain, which can be treated by manual repositioning or incisional repositioning and fixation. After tailbone fracture, avoid sitting as much as possible, give a light diet, eat more fiber-rich food, and prevent dry stools.
