What are the signs that pneumonia is getting better?

Signs of improvement of pneumonia include decrease or return to normal temperature, improvement of cough and sputum, gradual decrease or return to normal of white blood cells, and absorption of lesions on chest X-ray or CT. Typical signs of pneumonia are chills, fever, history of upper respiratory tract infection, cough, sputum or further aggravation of existing respiratory tract infection symptoms, sputum containing pus, with or without chest pain. Patients with large lesions may have dyspnea and cyanosis. The development of the disease should be analyzed and evaluated 48-72 hours after antibiotic treatment.
