Can Lymphoma Survive Long Term After Cure?

Lymphomas may survive for a long time after cure, but there is a certain chance of recurrence and some people do not survive for a long time. Clinically, lymphomas are classified into Hodgkin’s lymphoma and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma according to their histopathological changes. For stage I and II Hodgkin’s lymphoma who are actively treated and cured, the 5-year survival rate is more than 90%, while the 5-year survival rate of stage IV Hodgkin’s lymph is 31.9%. In the case of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, the 5-year survival rate is about 73% in the low-risk group and 50% in the low-intermediate-risk group. For non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in the high-medium risk group, the 5-year survival rate of patients was about 43%, while the 5-year survival rate in the high-risk group was about 26%. In summary, patients with lymphoma can survive for a long time after cure, but some other patients cannot survive for a long time. In order to control the progression of the disease and prolong the survival time, people diagnosed with lymphoma should actively cooperate with doctors for treatment. Lymphoma patients are advised to adjust their mindset and avoid large emotional fluctuations. During the period of treatment, pay attention to regular medical checkups in order to monitor the changes of the disease. Pay attention to the balanced intake of nutrients in daily life, and do physical exercise appropriately.
