Asparagus and Ginger are not the same thing. Tianma is the tuber of the orchid plant asparagus. Ginger is known as chrysanthemum, also known as ghost ginger, is a perennial rooted herb native to North America, the underground tubers can be eaten, but is not a traditional Chinese medicine. The adverse reactions and contraindications of Tianma are not clear.
