How long can you live with a 10cm liver cancer that hasn’t spread?

The 5-year survival rate of patients with 10cm liver cancer that has not yet spread is about 40% after active treatment, but it varies from person to person. 10cm liver cancer belongs to large liver cancer, and if no metastasis occurs, according to TNM staging, it is already in T3N0M0 stage, i.e., stage IIIA, which is already in middle-late stage. Since most cases may be accompanied by tiny liver cancer foci, there is a possibility of recurrence after surgery. Some studies claimed that their 5-year postoperative recurrence rate is 40% to 70%, and the higher recurrence rate also restricts the long-term survival of patients. Cancer prognosis is generally assessed by survival rate, and liver cancer prognosis is related to disease progression (e.g., stage, etc.), treatment plan, and patient’s underlying condition. According to some studies, the five-year survival rate of early-stage small liver cancer is 60%-70%; while the five-year survival rate of intermediate and advanced liver cancer is 20%-40%; and the prognosis of advanced liver cancer is the worst, with a one-year survival rate of only about 20%. It is suggested that liver cancer patients should go to regular hospitals to evaluate their conditions and follow the doctor’s instructions to actively cooperate with the treatment in order to improve the quality of life and prolong the survival period.
