What are the symptoms of inferior turbinate hypertrophy



Enlarged inferior turbinate may cause nasal congestion, runny nose, cough, phlegm, overflow of tears, tinnitus, and impaired sense of smell.

1. Nasal congestion: Enlarged inferior turbinate may cause persistent nasal congestion, which affects normal breathing and leads to open-mouth breathing.

2. Runny nose: enlarged inferior turbinate may have a runny nose, which is mucous or mucopurulent and thick; watery runny nose in allergic rhinitis.

3. Cough, cough and phlegm: nasal congestion due to inferior turbinate hypertrophy, nasal congestion will make the nasal secretion backflow, stimulate the throat, cough, cough and other symptoms.

4. Tears, tinnitus: when the front and back end of the enlarged inferior turbinate presses the opening of the lacrimal duct and the pharyngeal opening of the Eustachian tube, it can cause tears; tinnitus and hearing loss and other symptoms.
