Is the small nodule in the right lower lung cancerous?



Small nodule shadow in the right lower lung is not necessarily cancer, it may be benign lesion, if it is malignant lesion, it is cancer.

1. Benign lesion: at this time, the nodule in the lung is usually less than 1cm, and the patient has no obvious discomfort. It may be caused by tuberculosis or pneumonia in the lungs, which is more stable in the short term and will not grow significantly, and can be treated by anti-tuberculosis and anti-inflammatory treatment. It is recommended to follow up with chest CT once every six months to observe whether there is any change in the size and shape of the nodule.

2. Malignant lesions: at this time, when the lung nodules of the patients show grinding glass-like or solid nodules, irregular shape, unclear margins, burrs, vascular signs, adhesion with the surrounding tissues, pleural depression and so on, it is considered to be caused by malignant tumors. Patients may be accompanied by some symptoms, such as cough, chest tightness, dyspnea, fever, chest pain, etc. Pathologic puncture and lung enhancement CT are needed to further confirm the diagnosis.

Small nodular shadows in the right lower lung are not necessarily cancerous, and need to be judged according to one’s clinical symptoms under the guidance of a doctor, and patients are recommended to have regular review.
