Prickly heat in summer is usually caused by the child sweating a lot in the hot weather, and the sweat is retained in the sweat ducts and not excreted. General treatment, physical therapy and medication such as glycerine lotion and mupirocin cream can be used to make prickly heat subside.
1. General treatment: use a towel to wipe off the sweat on the skin, usually in summer, you can adjust the indoor air conditioning temperature to a comfortable temperature for the child, so that the skin stays dry and comfortable, and do not allow the child to scratch the prickly heat, which can disappear on its own if it is not serious.
2. Physical therapy: You can fill a bottle with ice water and apply cold compresses to the prickly heat area to help cool down and relieve the child’s itching and redness.
3. Medication: If the above treatments are still not relieved, medication can be used to help relieve the itchiness of the child by applying glycerite lotion as prescribed by the doctor if the skin is not damaged, and mupirocin ointment can be combined with mupirocin ointment if there is a secondary infection to relieve the uncomfortable symptoms.
If the symptoms are not relieved, the child should go to the hospital in time to follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment, it is not recommended to blindly use medication.
