The probability of chordoma metastasis is about 5 to 20 percent. Chordoma originates from a tumor of the degenerating spinal cord tissue in the body and is a relatively common benign tumor of the nervous system. Characteristically distributed along the midline, in the slopes inside the brain. Prone to chordoma. On the outside of the head, the spine to the sacrum may have chordoma. Chordoma has a high recurrence rate, averaging about 85%. Once diagnosed, prompt intervention is needed. Life expectancy is about 6.3 years. Without treatment, life expectancy is about six months to two years. Early surgery combined with radiation therapy can improve survival. There is regular follow-up after surgery with recurrence indicators. A diagnosis of chordoma requires medical treatment as soon as possible to avoid delays.
