Can Mingmu Di Huang Wan treat liver-blood deficiency?

Mingmu Di Huang Wan does not have therapeutic effect on liver-blood deficiency.
Mingmu Di Huang Wan is composed of Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata, Cornu Cervi Pantotrichum, Rhizoma Cornu Cervi, Rhizoma Coptidis, and Rhizoma Dampiflora, which has the effects of nourishing the kidney, nourishing the liver and improving eyesight. It can be used for treating soreness and weakness of the lower back and knees, blurred vision, and hot flashes and night sweating (abnormal sweating after going to sleep, and stopping of sweating after waking up) caused by deficiency of Yin in the liver and kidneys (Yin-liquid insufficiency of liver and kidney).
Liver-blood deficiency refers to deficiency of liver blood, which is usually manifested as blurred eyes, colorless face, and scanty menstrual flow. The main treatment of Mingmu Di Huang Wan is Yin deficiency of the liver and kidney, and it has no therapeutic effect on Liver-Blood insufficiency. Patients with Liver-Blood insufficiency are more suitable to be treated with medicines to nourish Liver-Blood, such as Liver Tonic Pill and Four Substance Tang.
