What is the mean platelet volume of 11.10

A mean platelet volume of 11.10fl is normal. Normal values for mean platelet volume are 9.0 to 13fl. Platelet mean volume represents the average volume of each platelet, and its significance needs to be combined with the change of platelet count to be more valuable, but the increase of platelet mean volume can be used as an earlier indicator of the recovery of bone marrow hematopoiesis. 1. Increased mean platelet volume: common in excessive platelet destruction, myelofibrosis, primary thrombocytopenic purpura, vascular disease and pre-thrombotic state, splenectomy, chronic granulocytic leukemia, giant platelet syndrome, sickle cell anemia, etc. 2. Decrease in average platelet volume: commonly seen in bone marrow hematopoietic dysfunction with decreased platelet production, average platelet volume and platelet decrease at the same time suggesting bone marrow hematopoietic failure; also seen in aplastic anemia, hypersplenism, renal failure and chemotherapy.
