Can I take a shower if I have tetanus?

Tetanus shots (i.e. tetanus antitoxin) can usually be bathed in, but it is important to avoid getting the wound wet.
Tetanus antitoxin prevents and treats tetanus, and should be given for open wounds, or when tetanus or its suspected symptoms are present.
After the tetanus antitoxin injection, the wound should be kept clean and dry and should not be exposed to water too soon. However, you can usually take a shower and just need to protect the wound. Bathing is not recommended if the wound is large and is located on the torso, for example.
It is recommended to rest more after the tetanus antitoxin injection and avoid overwork. Diet should be light, and eat less spicy and stimulating food to avoid affecting the healing of the wound. At the same time, pay attention to personal hygiene, so as not to contaminate the wound. If the wound infection occurs, you should seek medical treatment in time, follow the doctor’s instructions to take azithromycin, roxithromycin and other antibiotic drugs.
