In general, epididymitis with nodules is a relatively serious condition. Patients with epididymitis may have hard nodules in the epididymis if it remains untreated for a long period of time, which is usually the result of the patient’s epididymitis changing from acute to chronic; in addition, hard nodules in the epididymis may also be caused by epididymal cysts. Therefore, if the patient has hard nodules in the epididymis, it is usually considered to be caused by the above two reasons. The presence of hard nodules in the epididymis may lead to obstruction of the epididymal ducts as well as the vas deferens, thus hindering the normal transportation of sperms and increasing the probability of male infertility. Meanwhile, conservative treatment for patients with epididymal hardness usually does not produce significant results, and surgery is usually required to treat the condition, which is more risky. Therefore, if patients with epididymitis have hard nodules, which are more serious, they should go to regular hospitals in time to clarify their condition and get treatment as soon as possible.
