Is vision loss in the elderly due to presbyopia?

Presbyopia is a normal physiological phenomenon that happens to everyone, just at different ages. The vision loss caused by it is mainly manifested by poorer vision when looking at the near, while looking at the far is generally unaffected. Therefore, elderly people should not attribute all vision loss to presbyopia. If there is a significant loss of vision at a distance, you must go to the hospital and pay attention to the presence of cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration and other common diseases of the elderly.
