Is it a good thing that presbyopia suddenly stops?

We all know that people naturally get faded when they get older. However, some people need to wear presbyopic glasses when reading at the age of 40-50, and as they get older, they can instead read books and newspapers without the need for glasses by the age of 60-70. Generally, this is a time when patients are very happy, thinking that it is a sign that I am getting younger and younger and that the presbyopia is gone, which means that the eyes are healthy. Is this really the case? What is this all about? Presbyopia: 40 years old, 60 years old Presbyopia, medically known as “presbyopia”, is a decline in the function of the ciliary muscle in the eye due to age, which in turn causes a decline in the adjustment ability of the human eye and eventually disappears. In layman’s terms, the eye is like a fully automatic camera, and presbyopia is the process by which the camera’s ability to focus automatically decreases until it disappears. This process generally starts at the age of 40 and ends at the age of 60, which is characterized by unclear vision and the need to wear fancy glasses, and the degree of presbyopia will not increase after the age of 60. This shows that presbyopia is a normal physiological phenomenon, not a disease, and each will appear. People can not return to old age, eye muscle function has declined, is not automatically restored. Therefore, it is safe to say that presbyopia cannot get better or disappear on its own. Presbyopia disappearing? Cataracts are coming! But what is the problem with people who feel that their presbyopia has disappeared? After examination, people who have such a phenomenon are usually patients with cataracts. In the early stage of cataract, the refractive state of the eye slowly changes to “myopia” because the density of the lens increases and gradually becomes cloudy. Presbyopic lenses are corrected with “convex lenses” while myopic lenses are corrected with “concave lenses”. When the two are superimposed, the lens prescription of presbyopia is reduced or disappears. In the early stage of cataract, some patients show that the “presbyopia” is reduced or disappeared, and they can see closer than before. However, such patients usually have less clear vision in the distance. As the disease gradually develops, it becomes unclear to see near and far. Therefore, in general, if there are phenomena that go against the natural pattern, you should be alert to whether you are suffering from certain diseases.
