What is presbyopia? What are the symptoms? How to correct it?

What is presbyopia? ”Presbyopia is a condition that occurs as we age, starting around the age of 40 to 45, when we can’t see close objects clearly (such as reading a cell phone, reading and writing, doing needlework, etc.), but can see distant objects clearly (such as looking at distant scenery when we go out to play, or when we go shopping in our daily life, etc.).   How is presbyopia caused? As we age, the lens gradually hardens, its elasticity decreases, and the function of the ciliary muscle gradually decreases, resulting in a gradual decline in the regulation of the eye. This physiological weakening of regulation due to ageing is called presbyopia. Symptoms of presbyopia: 1. Difficulty in seeing near: Patients with presbyopia will unconsciously tilt their heads back or take books and newspapers farther away to see the words clearly, and the required reading distance increases with age; 2. 3. Reading requires stronger illumination, and when there is insufficient light, the blurring of close reading is more obvious. The above symptoms will gradually worsen as we get older. What should I do if I have presbyopia? Presbyopia can be solved by wearing presbyopic glasses. That is, presbyopia requires presbyopic glasses. Reminder: If you see things faintly and still can’t see clearly with presbyopic glasses, it is recommended to go to the hospital as soon as possible to check if there are other problems.
