Consider physiological causes such as strenuous exercise and pathologic causes such as lumbar disc herniation and varicose veins in the lower extremities for calf stomach pain. 1. Physiological soreness: after strenuous exercise, anaerobic respiration produces excessive accumulation of lactic acid in the muscles, resulting in muscle soreness; trauma caused by soft tissue injuries or hematoma compression of the surrounding muscle tissue. 2. Pathological pain (1) Lumbar intervertebral disc herniation: if the patient has lumbar 5 sacral 1 intervertebral disc herniation, it presses the sacral 1 nerve root, causing the pulling pain or distension of the calf stomach. (2) varicose veins of the lower limbs: patients have the feeling of ants crawling on the skin of the calf stomach, local pain and other discomforts, and in severe cases, earthworm-like bulging veins can be seen. (3) Infectious diseases: such as leptospirosis can cause gastrocnemius muscle (calf stomach) pressure pain; cholera due to severe diarrhea resulting in large amounts of sodium loss caused by gastrocnemius muscle spasm. Once the occurrence of calf stomach pain, it is recommended to immediately seek medical attention in order to identify the cause, targeted treatment.
