Signs of the worst dangers of anemia

There is no specific sign of the most serious danger; anemia is a symptom, not a specific disease.
Various diseases can be associated with anemia. The presence or absence and severity of anemia symptoms, in addition to being influenced by the primary disease, depends mainly on the degree of anemia and the speed of its occurrence, but is also related to the patient’s age, the presence or absence of other cardiopulmonary diseases, and the compensatory capacity of the cardiovascular system.
When the hemoglobin is lower than 60g/L and higher than 30g/L, it can be judged as severe anemia, and when it is lower than 30g/L, it is extremely severe anemia. At this time, many systems will show some manifestations, such as respiratory, circulatory, digestive and genitourinary systems. Specific manifestations may be as follows:
1. General manifestations: low-grade fever and increased basal metabolic rate may be present in severe anemia.
2. Respiratory system: shortness of breath may occur with slight activity or emotional excitement.
3. Circulatory system: patients with severe anemia (hemoglobin less than 30 g/L or less) or with rapidly progressing anemia may have marked enlargement of the whole heart, and eventually congestive heart failure can occur. Patients with severe anemia can develop edema even without congestive heart failure.
4. Digestive system: anemia can be characterized by loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, abdominal distension and even diarrhea.
5. Genitourinary system: proteinuria can occur when anemia is severe. Menstrual disorders, amenorrhea and loss of libido are also more common.
After the patient is diagnosed with anemia, active treatment should be carried out, especially when the above symptoms appear, it is more suggestive of the seriousness of anemia and should be treated in time to avoid serious consequences.
