Can you live 10 years in early stage invasive lung adenocarcinoma?

It is possible for patients with early stage of invasive lung adenocarcinoma to live for 10 years. Early stage of invasive lung adenocarcinoma, i.e., stage IA invasive lung adenocarcinoma, the maximum diameter of the tumor is not more than 3cm, and there is often no lymph node and distant metastasis. After active treatment, the 5-year survival rate is around 65%~70%, and some patients can have a 10-year or longer survival period. For early stage patients with invasive lung adenocarcinoma, radical surgery for localized lesions is generally feasible, and other treatments are supplemented after surgery to consolidate the therapeutic effect. However, its survival time is related to many factors, such as the differentiation degree of tumor cells, individual’s physical condition, treatment effect and so on. The prognosis of lung adenocarcinoma depends on early detection, early diagnosis and early treatment. Therefore, once diagnosed with early stage of invasive lung adenocarcinoma, patients should actively cooperate with doctors and get treatment as early as possible in order to prolong the survival period.
