Is it serious to be concussed?

Usually, being hit with a concussion is not considered very serious. However, there are a few patients who may experience severe brain damage after being struck by an external force.
A concussion is a mild brain injury that is a short-lived, temporary brain dysfunction. Most clinical cases of concussion are not serious enough to pose a threat to the patient’s life, and there are no significant complications or after-effects.
Patients with concussions tend to have a brief period of impaired development of consciousness, confusion, and coma, but the duration is usually not very long, mostly about half an hour.
There may also be some neurological symptoms after the injury, such as headaches, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, panic attacks, cold sweats, and insomnia and memory loss. However, these symptoms are usually not very serious and can be relieved with some rest and medication.
Patients who have been hit on the head are advised to go to regular hospitals for examination in time, so as to avoid delaying the condition and causing adverse consequences.
