How to diagnose and identify tenosynovitis

Tendovaginitis can be diagnosed and differentiated by typical symptoms, imaging examination and resistance test.
1. Typical symptoms: localized wrist pain, palpable nodules or lumps in the painful area, restricted movement, ringing fingers or popping sensation, and friction sensation in the joints.
2. Imaging examination: X-ray examination may show calcium deposition in tendon and tendon sheath.
3. Positive resistance test: For example, patients with stenosing tenosynovitis of the radial tuberosity will have a positive fist ulnar deviation test (Finkelstein’s sign).
In addition to the above methods, diagnosis can also be made by ultrasonography and laboratory tests.
Tenosynovitis can be categorized into flexor tendon tenosynovitis, radial tuberosity tenosynovitis, plantar flexor tendon tenosynovitis, infectious tenosynovitis, etc., which can be diagnosed and differentiated by the above methods.
If you suspect tenosynovitis, you should go to the hospital to receive a formal examination, through the comprehensive analysis of the examination, in order to diagnose and identify the disease, in order to exclude the possibility of other diseases.
