Is there a relationship between poor kidneys and sleep

Bad kidneys may be related to sleep. Patients with bad kidneys may have symptoms such as high blood pressure, generalized itching and restless leg syndrome, which may also affect sleep.
1. High blood pressure: patients with bad kidney will lead to lower glomerular filtration rate and water retention, which will cause high blood pressure. And the increase of blood pressure at night, leading to discomfort, will affect sleep.
2. Generalized itching: bad kidneys will lead to the accumulation of toxins in the body, so that the detoxification ability of the kidneys decreases, and the toxins can’t be discharged, which will cause itching of the skin. And at night, the external stimulus will be reduced, causing the patient to itch significantly, thus affecting sleep.
3. Restless legs syndrome: patients with poor kidneys are often combined with restless legs syndrome, which is characterized by indescribable sensory abnormality and discomfort in both lower limbs under resting state, and a strong desire to move the legs, which is often aggravated at night when resting. It mostly affects the patient’s sleep.
Bad kidneys may affect normal sleep, if the patient has problems with kidney function, it is recommended to go to the regular hospital in time for treatment.
