Nasal congestion is often associated with swelling of the nasal mucosa caused by viral infection of colds. There is no specific antiviral drug for colds, and symptomatic treatment is generally adopted. Nasal congestion can be relieved by local massage or medication. 1. Local massage: you can massage your thumb and forefinger on both sides of the bridge of the nose, so that the local circulation of blood, to relieve the symptoms of nasal congestion. 2. Medications: Commonly used medications include decongestants such as ephedrine hydrochloride nasal drops, which can relieve mucosal swelling and reduce the symptoms of nasal congestion; and glucocorticosteroids such as budesonide nasal spray, which can reduce the inflammatory response of the nasal mucosa and alleviate nasal congestion. 3. Surgical treatment: If caused by inferior turbinate hypertrophy combined with colds, after the acute phase of colds, turbinoplasty can be performed if necessary to relieve discomfort. Nasal congestion caused by colds should be treated under the guidance of a doctor, and medications should be used according to the doctor’s instructions.
