Diabetes mellitus can be diagnosed if the fasting blood glucose is ≥7.0mmol/L or the two-hour blood glucose of OGTT is ≥11.1mmol/L, or the random blood glucose is ≥11.1mmol/L and there are symptoms related to diabetes mellitus. Lipid panel generally includes triglycerides, total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, etc. Elevated triglycerides and LDL suggest an increased risk of atherosclerosis.
