Will the colposcopic biopsy and cervical conization biopsy reports agree?

Colposcopy biopsy and cervical conization biopsy reports are not always the same; in most cases the results of these two tests are the same, and in a few cases the results of these two tests are not the same. Colposcopic biopsy will take tissue from the whitish part of the cervix for biopsy, if the colposcopic biopsy finds pre-cancerous lesions of the cervix, but the colposcopic biopsy can only be used as a screening test, not as a test to confirm the lesions. Cervical conization biopsy, on the other hand, cuts off a larger area of the cervix and is more accurate than colposcopic biopsy. In most cases, the reports of colposcopic biopsy and cervical conization biopsy are consistent, and in a few cases, the reports of colposcopic biopsy and cervical conization biopsy are inconsistent. The colposcopy biopsy and cervical conization biopsy reports may or may not agree. It is recommended that a cervical pyonectomy be performed to confirm the diagnosis if the colposcopic biopsy is abnormal.
