1. Surgery: Usually, patients with nasopharyngeal cancer who have failed local radiotherapy or have local recurrence need to undergo surgery as prescribed by doctors, and there are many clinical surgical methods, including transnasal lateral incision resection, transcervical lateral incision resection, transmaxillary incision, maxillary lifting incision, etc. Meanwhile, some patients can also choose to undergo endonasal endoscopic nasopharyngeal cancer resection, modified or radical cervical lymphatic lymphadenectomy. Meanwhile, some patients may also choose to undergo endonasal endoscopic nasopharyngeal carcinoma resection, modified or radical cervical lymphadenectomy and so on.
2. Immunotherapy: Usually, patients with recurrent and metastatic nasopharyngeal cancer can be treated with immunotherapy according to doctor’s prescription, which is mainly based on PD1/PD-L1 immune checkpoint inhibitor, and should be gradually infiltrated into the comprehensive treatment of tumor. However, since the application of immunotherapy in nasopharyngeal cancer is still in the experimental stage, its long-term clinical results have to be verified.
3. Radiotherapy: nasopharyngeal cancer is relatively sensitive to radiotherapy, and if local recurrence occurs, radiotherapy can be used again according to specific conditions.
4. Chemotherapy: chemotherapy is also an important treatment for recurrent nasopharyngeal cancer, commonly used drugs include paclitaxel, fluorouracil, cisplatin and so on, which need to be applied under the guidance of professional physicians.
It is suggested that nasopharyngeal cancer patients should actively cooperate with doctors to take reasonable treatment measures in case of recurrence, so as to avoid serious consequences.
