Jiu Yi Dan is composed of Gypsum and Sheng Dan in 9:1 powder, of which 9 parts of cooked gypsum and 1 part of Sheng Dan. It is used in sores and ulcers after ulceration, when the pus and decay are about to be purged, and it is desirable to regenerate the muscle.
Jiuyi Dan is derived from “Medical Zong Jinjian”, which has the efficacy of lifting pus and pulling out toxins, removing decay and regenerating muscle. In this formula, Sheng Dan lifts the pus and removes the decay to produce muscle, and cooked gypsum converges the sores to produce muscle (to help the sores heal faster and promote the growth of new flesh), and it can restrain the corrosive nature of Sheng Dan. The combination of the two medicines can promote pus to dispel decay, and regenerate muscle and astringe the mouth.
Jiuyi Dan is mainly used in sores and ulcers with pus and water, and can be applied to ulcers and fistulas that have not healed for a long time. The proportion of calcined gypsum and ascending dan in the formula can be adjusted as needed. The usage is to grind and apply externally to the affected area. Sheng Dan is highly toxic and is strictly prohibited to be imported.
If necessary, the formula should be used by professionals, and should not be used without authorization.
