Causes of obstructed labor

The causes of obstructed labor mainly include abnormal force of labor, abnormal birth canal and fetal abnormality, which need to be analyzed specifically. 1. Abnormal labor force: it includes all kinds of contraction force abnormality, such as uterus, abdominal muscle, diaphragm, anus muscle and other contraction force abnormality, the most important one is uterus contraction force abnormality, which may be caused by uterus developmental abnormality, intrauterine infection, uterine fibroids, endocrine dysfunction, and the use of large doses of drugs to relieve spasm and sedation and analgesia, and other reasons. 2. Abnormalities of the birth canal: these are categorized into abnormalities of the bony birth canal and the soft birth canal. Abnormalities of the bony birth canal are caused by pelvic stenosis, scoliosis, fractures and other deformities of the pelvis. Soft birth canal anomalies are caused by scarring, edema and infection in the vagina and cervix. 3. Fetal anomalies: These include abnormal fetal position such as shoulder first, breech first, etc., as well as relatively oversized fetus, abnormal fetal development, and interlocking of fetal heads in twin pregnancies. In addition, obstructed labor is also related to the psychosocial factors of pregnant women, because the fear and tension of pregnant women about labor pain can lead to weak contractions. It is recommended that pregnant women should undergo pregnancy checkups on time, be admitted to the hospital in time for labor under the guidance of a doctor when necessary, try to relax during labor, and follow the advice of a medical professional to ensure the safety of both mother and child during labor.
