What to do if your eyeball is still limited by diplopia after orbital fracture surgery

After orbital fracture surgery, eye movement is still limited and diplopia exists, need to do orbital CT examination, may look at the extraocular muscle and surrounding tissue adhesion or extraocular muscle paralysis caused by the patient can follow the doctor’s instructions to use medication or surgical treatment.
1. Tissue adhesion: Orbital fracture can easily cause limitation of extraocular muscle movement, which leads to eye movement disorder and diplopia, known as restrictive strabismus. After surgical treatment, some patients’ symptoms are not relieved and need to review orbital CT, which may be caused by adhesion between extraocular muscles and surrounding tissues. Patients can be treated surgically to loosen the adhesive tissues, so as to improve diplopia.
2. Extraocular muscle paralysis: A few patients may suffer from extraocular muscle paralysis caused by trauma, resulting in diplopia and eye movement limitation. Patients can follow the doctor’s instructions to use neurotrophic drugs to promote the recovery of extraocular muscle function, such as methylcobalamin tablets and so on.
It is recommended that patients with limited eye movement and diplopia should consult a doctor in time to assess their condition and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
