Surgery may also be considered for longer cases to address appearance. Surgical complications of orbital fractures include optic nerve injury, hemorrhage, cerebrospinal fluid leakage, injury to the infraorbital nerve, inferior oblique muscle, postoperative displacement of the eyeball, worsening of motor limitation, lower eyelid exophthalmos, implant rejection or displacement, incomplete relief or worsening of diplopia.
