What causes high alpha 2 globulin?



Globulin can be categorized into four types: α1, α2, β and γ. α2 globulin can reflect the severity of hepatitis lesions, and high α2 globulin may be the result of alcoholic liver disease, cirrhosis and other diseases.

1. Alcoholic liver disease: long-term heavy drinking will damage the normal function of liver cells, which will lead to the occurrence of alcoholic liver disease. α2 globulin is high, some of them are asymptomatic, or there are mild symptoms such as fatigue, loss of appetite, vague pain or discomfort in the right upper abdomen, etc. Patients need to quit drinking and then medication, such as polyene phosphatidylcholine, which is forbidden to those who are allergic to it.

2. Cirrhosis: it is formed by the development of various chronic liver diseases, and will have the manifestation of high α2 globulin.
