The original dosage of Zhang Zhongjing’s Conjugated Zi Tang was 18g of Conjugated Zi (shelled, peeled and broken into eight slices), 9g of Poria, 6g of Ginseng, 12g of Atractylodes Macrocephalae, and 9g of Paeoniae Alba. Pian Zi Tang, from “Treatise on Typhoid Fever”. It has the effect of warming the menstruation and assisting yang, dispelling cold and resolving dampness. It is mainly used in treating Shaoyin disease (illness caused by external disease invading the Shaoyin meridian), with pain in the bones and joints of the body, coldness in the hands and feet, neutralization of the mouth, malignant cold in the back (fear of cold), and a sunken pulse.
