Babies need a routine physical examination and a neurological examination at 42 days. Routine physical examination includes measurement of height, weight, head circumference and chest circumference, and neurological examination includes evaluation of infant’s neurological reflexes and motor development.
1. Routine physical examination:
(1) Measurement of baby’s height is to determine the child’s bone development;
(2) The baby’s weight is to determine the baby’s physical development and nutritional status, 42 days after birth should grow about 1500 grams;
(3) Measuring the size of the baby’s head circumference to indicate the evaluation of the child’s brain development;
(4) Measure the baby’s chest circumference to respond to the baby’s development evaluation.
2. Neurological examination:
(1) Neurological reflexes mainly check whether the primitive reflexes persist;
(2) Motor development is mainly to see whether the child has lagged behind in motor development.
Baby 42 days check is very important, must go to the regular hospital for examination.
