Who should not take cefuroxime

Cefuroxime belongs to one of the main ingredients in Cefuroxime, Cefuroxime is not suitable for pregnant and lactating women, children under three months of age, and patients who are allergic to penicillin.

1. For pregnant and lactating women: There is no experimental evidence that cefuroxime may cause embryopathogenicity or fetal malformations. However, as with all medications, the product should be used with caution during the first trimester of pregnancy. Cefuroxime can be secreted through breast milk, so this product should be used with caution in nursing women.

2. Children under three months of age: accumulation of cephalosporins has been reported in newborns. The safety of cephalosporins in children under three months of age has not been established, and therefore its use is not recommended.

3. Use with caution if allergic to penicillins. The occurrence of partial cross-hypersensitivity to penicillin and cephalosporin has been found in both clinical and experimental settings. Even though it is rare for patients to have allergic reactions to both drugs at the same time, sometimes people are still allergic after injection.

This product should be used in accordance with medical advice.
