Cold or food accumulation may cause fever in children. However, there are substantial differences between these two diseases, such as different symptoms and different fever, which can be distinguished from these two aspects.
1. Symptoms: For fever caused by cold, usually accompanied by nasal congestion, runny nose, sneezing, coughing and sore throat and other symptoms, some children may also have a headache or muscle pain. For the fever caused by food accumulation, there are usually gastrointestinal symptoms, which can be manifested as abdominal distension, abdominal pain, etc., and there may also be bad breath or thick and greasy tongue.
2. Fever is different: low fever may occur after catching a cold, or it may lead to high fever, which needs to be treated with acetaminophen granules or ibuprofen suspension under the guidance of a doctor. If the body fever is caused by food accumulation, the temperature is usually not too high, basically below 39℃.
Parents need to make a comprehensive judgment based on the specific symptoms of the child’s fever. If the fever persists, it is recommended to consult a doctor and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
