HPV 31 positive refers to infection with human papillomavirus type 31, and this is the high-risk type. The danger is that persistent infection with high-risk HPV is the most important factor leading to cervical cancer.
There are many genotypes of HPV virus and infection with different genotypes may lead to different clinical lesions. They are categorized into high-risk and low-risk types. High-risk types such as HPV16, 18, 31, 33, 35, etc. are associated with cancer and precancerous lesions, while low-risk types such as HPV6, 11, 42, 43, etc. are mainly associated with urogenital warts and mild squamous epitheliopathy.
Most HPV infections have no obvious clinical symptoms and can only be known through HPV testing. Do not be nervous when an infection occurs, it may be transient and should be reviewed regularly under the guidance of a doctor.
Persistent infection of high-risk HPV can easily lead to cervical cancer. Cervical cancer vaccination can be carried out under doctor’s guidance to effectively avoid the occurrence of cancer.
