Difference between coronary angiography and coronary CT

Coronary angiography and coronary CT have their own advantages and disadvantages in addition to the differences in examination methods and operations. 1. Differences in examination methods and operations: coronary angiography is to selectively visualize the coronary arteries by injecting a contrast agent into the heart cavity through a vein and then placing a catheter into the heart cavity. Coronary CT is to inject the contrast agent, and then under the CT, the coronary arteries and the heart are reproduced volumetrically. 2. Advantages: The advantage of coronary angiography is that it can better observe the location and degree of coronary artery stenosis, as well as the compensation of collateral circulation. Coronary CT imaging, on the other hand, can present a three-dimensional reconstruction model by volumetrically reproducing the images, clearly showing the anatomy of the coronary tree. 3. Disadvantages: The disadvantage of coronary angiography is that the intervention is invasive, while coronary CT examination is non-invasive. When vascular intervention is needed for the corresponding lesion in the coronary artery, it is usually chosen with the assistance of coronary angiography. Patients are advised to choose the examination method according to their own conditions and the guidance of their doctors.
