When to wean your child

Breastfeeding is currently advocated for two years, so it is recommended that babies be weaned at around two years of age. Breastfeeding is good for the baby, breast milk is rich in nutrients, rich in immunity-enhancing substances. Generally, mothers start breastfeeding within one hour after delivery, insist on exclusive breastfeeding for more than six months, and advocate breastfeeding for two years. Therefore, it is recommended that babies are gradually weaned at around 2 years of age. If the baby is less than 2 years old, it can also be weaned earlier, which needs to be decided according to your own situation. Weaning should be gradual, do not force your child to wean immediately, as it is not conducive to your child’s mental health. It is also recommended to wean your child in the spring or fall, as weaning in the summer, when temperatures are high, may aggravate your child’s loss of appetite caused by weaning, while weaning in the winter, when the weather is colder, may cause your child to have a restless night’s sleep and catch a cold easily.
