Hemolytic disorders are ABO hemolytic disorder, and Rh hemolytic disorder. Hemolysis may occur when the mother is type O and the child is type A, B, or AB.
Hemolysis can occur when the mother has type O blood and the child has type A, B, or AB blood, and ABO hemolysis can occur in the first pregnancy.
There is also a type of Rh hemolysis where the mother has Rh negative blood and the first born child has Rh positive blood. when the mother is pregnant with her second child, the child may develop Rh hemolysis if the child has Rh positive blood. rh hemolysis does not occur in the first birth.
If anemia, jaundice, hepatosplenomegaly, or heart failure develops, the occurrence of hemolysis needs to be considered and treatment needs to be aggressively followed.
