The onset of the new coronavirus is usually within a few days

The onset of neocoronavirus is typically 1 to 14 days, but the current omicron variant strain averages 3 to 5 days. The incubation period of the initial neocoronaviruses was generally 1~14 days, and based on the characteristics of previous outbreaks, some infected persons may not show positive nucleic acid test results until about 14 days, so the maximum period is currently recognized as 14 days. However, the current epidemic of the new coronavirus is dominated by the Omicron variant strain, which has a significantly shorter incubation period, and generally develops in 3~5 days. Even those infected with longer incubation periods are generally in the range of 5 to 7 days. Infected persons with longer incubation periods are currently rare, but the so-called onset of disease mainly refers to those who are diagnosed as infected and do not necessarily present with definitive symptomatic manifestations.
