What’s wrong with a big cervix?

The phenomenon of cervical hypertrophy is divided into physiological phenomenon or pathological phenomenon, and pathological phenomenon is common in chronic cervicitis, localized myoma of cervix, cyst of cervix, cervical cancer and other diseases. 1. Physiological phenomenon: common in natural childbirth, mostly seen in multiple births, because vaginal delivery will lead to cervical tissue hyperplasia caused by cervical hypertrophy, generally asymptomatic and do not need treatment. 2. Pathological causes, commonly found in chronic cervicitis, localized leiomyoma of the cervix, invasive cancer of the cervix, cysts of the cervix and other diseases. (1) Chronic cervicitis: due to the long-term stimulation of chronic inflammation, the cervical tissues are congested and edematous, and the glands and mesenchyme are proliferated, which increases the hardness of the cervix and manifests as cervical hypertrophy. (2) The presence of cysts in the cervix: there may also be mucus retention in the deep part of the glands to form cysts, making the cervix show different degrees of hypertrophy, but the surface is smooth, and sometimes the retention cysts can be seen protruding. (3) Localized fibroids in the cervix: fibroids usually do not cause cervical hypertrophy, but when there are cervical fibroids, the appearance of the cervix will be enlarged, and there will be localized protruding fibroid nodules in the cervix or changes in the shape of the cervix. (4) Cervical cancer: some cervical cancer manifests as cervical hypertrophy, the cancer cells will destroy the cervical tissues, and the cancer cells themselves grow in heaps and become enlarged. If you find cervical hypertrophy, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time to improve the cervical cancer screening and cervical HPV test to clarify the cause.
