Treatment of Tinnitus

Tinnitus may be caused by long-term noise environment, abnormal local blood vessel pulsation, rhinitis, trauma, acoustic neuroma, etc. It needs to be treated with medication or surgery according to the cause of the disease, and those whose cause is unknown need symptomatic treatment. 1. Long-term noise environment: Prolonged exposure to a noisy environment will gradually damage the tympanic membrane, cochlea, auditory nerve and other hearing organs, resulting in tinnitus. Treatment needs to get rid of the noise environment. 2. Abnormal pulsation of local blood vessels: abnormal pulsation of temporal artery, internal carotid artery, external carotid artery, etc. can transmit the sound of blood vessel turbulence to the ear, so tinnitus will occur. It can be treated by surgical ligation of diseased blood vessels. 3. Rhinitis: Inflammation of nasal mucosa exudation, bleeding, etc. leads to narrowing of the nasal cavity, the Eustachian tube pharyngeal opening is blocked, and the pressure in the inner ear increases and produces tinnitus. Budesonide spray, loratadine, hydroxymetazoline and other drugs can be applied. 4. Trauma: After the head and neck suffered serious impact, extrusion, contusion and other traumatic injuries, resulting in damage to the auditory nerve, cochlea blood vessels and local muscles, so the tinnitus will be tinnitus. Surgery is needed to repair the damage. 5. Auditory neuroma: Auditory nerve sheath tumor leads to tinnitus due to auditory nerve dysfunction. It can be treated by removing the tumor tissue through surgery or taking targeted drugs such as bevacizumab, trastuzumab and gefitinib. Sensorineural tinnitus of unknown etiology can be treated with vasodilators, microcirculation improvement, anticonvulsants, anxiolytics and antidepressants, muscle relaxants, and nutrients. If you have tinnitus symptoms, it is recommended to consult a hospital for a clear diagnosis and follow the doctor’s instructions for medication and treatment.
